With everything going on around us including the whole pandemic, the generation that we’re a part of, I’ve come to realise that we’re all in a rat race for everything and if the others see us and what we’re doing as correct, that’s when we actually feel like we even belong in this world. It’s almost as if us trying to understand and support ourselves isn’t an option anymore for most people today.
We’re all in the quest of wanting to feel good about ourselves. We want others to love us so that we feel better and accepted but what’s most important is to love ourselves, accept ourselves. If there’s scope for betterment we end up cursing our current self instead of accepting ourselves and moving on towards betterment. Sushant Singh Rajput, a nation loved him but seems like it was not sufficient enough for him to love himself. Chester Bennington, THE WORLD loved him and that wasn’t enough for him to love himself. MONEY, FAME, SUCCESS can mean nothing if you cannot love yourself enough.
Instances like these make us realise that you can have anything and everything that you want in this world but if you don’t feel content with your own being at the end of the day then despite being the wealthiest person, or being at a supreme position or being the remote control of the world or having an possession, you’re never going to feel happy and satisfied with yourself. You’d be having the largest bed to sleep on but you’d still want to crawl up in a small corner of that same bed.
In the light of everything that has happened I’ve a new philosophy that I and I want most people to adapt in their routine life, it is: ‘Good things and bad things are both like guests, sometimes they come uninvited and sometimes we invite them. All that we can do is try and concentrate on inviting as much as good things possible and not succumb to uninvited bad things.’
I hope my small piece has made a difference to someone reading this!
